14th July - disaster on the chicken front. A fox (or maybe a mink) got into the run through a tiny gap under the gate and killed the lot! Quite upsetting, but it happens. Will fix the gate and restock.
May 23rd - at last some glorious weather. The pool is nice and warm, the sun is shining. Why aren't you here enjoying it?
We plan for Lottie (one of our Golden Retrievers) to have puppies this summer - just got her hip-score results back from the vet and they were suitably low.
All the new chickens are laying well now. Eggs anyone?
There are goslings on the lake, only a couple of days old (9th May 2010). Lucy counted eight yesterday. We usually have two breeding pairs, but I found two goose eggs in the water recently and so perhaps the second pair met with some disaster.
Did you know that Lucy is a qualified driving instructor? Why not book a course of lessons and combine them with a cottage holiday? The standard hourly rate is £20. Lucy has a dual-control Renault Clio.
